Q:What is the Chieftain Center? A: The Chieftain Center is an 86,000 square foot multi-use facility that is located at the LHS Shaw-Davidson Campus.

Q:What are the initial educational programs that will be run in the Chieftain Center? A: The Chieftain Center is home to the new LHS Cadet Corps, the expanded Broadcast technology pathway and many other curriculum-based programs.
Q:Can the community use the Chieftain Center? A: Yes: Dates, times, and areas available for community use: Mon-Fri 5:45 am - 7:00 am - track & courts 6:00-9:00 pm - track, courts, and cardio equipment in the student union area upstairs

Q: Is there an admission fee for events held at the Chieftain Center? A: Yes: All events scheduled at the Chieftain Center are independent (sponsored by an outside group or organization) and not part of the Logan Jr high or High School athletic schedules, therefore, admissions will be charged. NO school district passes will be accepted, including senior citizens, school employees and Renaissance cards
CONSTRUCTION COSTS AND FUNDING Q:What is the anticipated total construction cost of the new Chieftain Center? A: $8.5 million Q:Where is this funding coming from? Will any of it come from the School District’s General Fund, the fund that takes care of day to day operating expenses? A: The Logan Chieftain Athletic Boosters have pledged $2 million in fundraising towards the project and have already received and donated $1.4 million to the School District. The balance will come from financing that will be repaid over the next thirty (30) years with permanent improvement funds of the School District. It is anticipated that there will be no increase in tax burden for current taxpayers. NO GENERAL FUND DOLLARS WILL BE USED TO CONSTRUCT THE CHIEFTAIN CENTER.
OPERATIONAL COSTS OF THE CHIEFTAIN CENTER Q:How will the day-to-day operational costs of the Chieftain Center be paid for? A: It is anticipated that outside user fees will cover the non-curriculum operational costs of the new center.
